AFROTC Detachment 425 gives students attending Mississippi State University, East Mississippi Community College, and Mississippi University for Women, the opportunity to commission as an Officer in the U.S. Air Force or U.S Space Force. Recognized as one of the top AFROTC Detachments in the Country, Detachment 425 was awarded the annual AFROTC Team Excellence Award for 2016, the 4th quarter 2019 AFROTC Team Excellence Award, and is the 2020 Southwest Region Medium-sized Detachment of the Year.
Mississippi State offers multiple engineering and technical degrees and boasts one of the best Professional Meteorology programs in the nation. While pursuing their degrees, AFROTC cadets are provided numerous opportunities to explore the multitude of career fields available in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Space Force.
